Multi-regionals will be held on March 9th 3:00pm at Weber High. State competition will be held on April 27th 6:00pm at the Salt Lake Community College Grand Theatre. All are invited to attend both competitions and support our LHS students.

JAMES CLARK
Educated on scholarship at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, James has performed professionally with Pioneer Theater company (20 years), the Utah Symphony, Mary Wilson (of the Supremes), Jeanine Tesoro, Frank Wildhorn, Mark Masri, Laura Osnes, Rachel York, Joe Zawinul (1996), Victoria Mallory, Kyle Rowland, The Motown Sounds, Disney in Concert, Dave Bowen Orchestea, Joe Muscolino Band, Ashberry Jam, Dicky Martinez and the Little Big Band, Monty Powell, Anna Wilson, Dan Weldon, The Sensations, Dizzy Desoto, Michael McLean, many more.....

BROOKE STONE
From an early age Brooke has loved music. That love of music and performing has given her many opportunities, the greatest being part of the trio Mercy River. Over the last 15 years, the 3 friends recorded 6 albums and an EP with their label Shadow Mountain Records. They’ve also performed for thousands of people throughout the US, Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand and Australia.
In addition to her experience with Mercy River, Brooke has had many opportunities to speak and sing for hundreds of groups and events, as well as recording on several other inspirational albums. Brooke resides in Layton, Utah with her husband Jarum and their 4 children.

Ashley Mayberry is a Country singer-songwriter born and raised in northern Utah. She has performed over four hundred shows in Utah, Wyoming and Idaho over the past five years ranging from solo acoustic sets to full band performances. You may have also heard her sing the national anthem at a rodeo or other sporting event. She has shared the stage with many well-known musicians such as James Clark, Adam Overacker, Nashville recording artist Clayton Smalley, and many others.
She started playing piano by ear at age five and later chose to teach herself guitar. She currently performs with her music partner, Gar Ashby, as “Ashberry Jam”. Ashley is a little bit country and Gar is a little bit rock and roll. Together they have created a high energy duo with a unique style and sound. Ashley’s strong country vocals and Gar’s gritty guitar brings a classic country yet rock vibe. Ashberry Jam has two singles, “Craving Thunder” and “Pockets” available for streaming and download on most major platforms.
KURTIS CAMPBELL
Kurtis Campbell is a lively drummer who loves to please the crowd as much as any frontman! He was a drummer in local hard rock bands, Sick Monkey and ParadigmShift out of Portland, Oregon for a total of six years.
In 2021 Kurtis and his wife moved to Utah, and now live in Layton with their one-year-old son.
MIA CLARK
Mia is a college freshman at the University of Utah studying human development! Her goal is to become a Child Life Specialist while rocking out and writing music in her free time. She has been playing drums and percussion for seven years and is still going strong.
Mia also dabbles in guitar, and loves to sing. She has played in countless jam bands, festivals (with Viewmont High’s jazz band) and gone to all-state, and has played drums in the pit for musicals! She been a music-fanatic her whole life, with her older brother who plays drums and guitar also. Mia is currently in a band with her best friends, and it has been an experience she would not trade for the world. She believes music is an amazing form of expression, and "cannot wait to see what these talented players have prepared".

Savvy Lee

Savvy is a senior this year and Student Body Vice President at Layton High. She is excited to participate in open mic night and wants to be involved with as much as possible at the school before graduating. She loves photography, traveling, tumbling, snowboarding and all things music!
Seraphim

Tonight will be Seraphim’s first show with Alex on drums and vocals, Aiden on guitar, and Tommy on bass.
Jay Hayes
“Stand Out Fit In” by ONE OK ROCK (cover version by Derivakat)
Jay loves singing. Listening by to music helps her express her feelings in a creative way. Singing songs from her favorite artists has really helped her through emotional hardships. Though she has never been in an event before and doesn’t really like being on stages, she feels like it would be a wonderful new experience!
Shygaze
“Hide Behind a Smile by Shygaze - Daylily by Movements”
Shygaze is a solo alternative project run by singer/songwriter and instrumentalist Corbin Van Deren. For the purpose of this competition, Harrison Kaiser and Boston from the band Immune Until Death will be playing drums and bass. Corbin has been writing music for over 3 years, first releasing under the name ACID. He changed the project's name to Shygaze in anticipation of the release of his album "Why Does This Beginning Feel Like the End of Me?". Currently, Corbin writes for his solo project as well as playing rhythm guitar for Immune Until Death.
Riley Jo Smith
“All Because of You” by Riley Jo Smith
Rylee came into this world with a love and passion for music, people and life! Music is deep in her soul. She has played the violin since a little girl and has taught herself on every other string instrument since! She loves writing songs and hopes to share her journey, strength, and hope of her life experiences through her messages. Rylee is not afraid to follow her heart, work hard, or try new things. She has been able to share her story and song to many people across Utah and can’t wait to add to that journey tonight!
Polynomial
“Reptilia” by The Strokes - “The Siren” by Polynomial
Polynomial is the hippest, most bomb-diggity indie band from Layton Utah. Having played many prestigious venues such as Austin's basement and Andrew's bedroom, they are ready to take the win at this year's Battle of the Bands!
Emory Bradshaw
“Butterfly Boy” - By Emory Bradshaw
Emory is a senior and has been performing music since she was about 8 years old. She is part of the musical theatre company at Layton High and loves writing and performing her own music. She is so excited to have this opportunity to debut an original song she wrote!
The Attic
“My hero by Foo fighters - No patience by The Attic”
The Attic formed in early 2023, and played their first show in October with Green House. They have loved performing and making crowds go crazy ever since. They are mostly participating in this competition to just have fun, show everyone a good time, get their name out, and make & perform music that people can enjoy and rock out to!
Gideon Crawford
"If it All Turned Red" by Gideon Crawford
Gideon is 17 and loves writing songs. He wants to be famous one day so please cheer for him as loud as you can. Thank you!
